Our story and the people behind it

Rainfield Clay Collective began as a rainy-day project in a garage. Today, it’s a coral-and-amber beacon for makers who crave both skill and belonging.

Mission

Enable more people to experience the joy of clay through structured learning, gentle coaching, and a studio that feels like home.

Approach

We combine demonstrations with guided practice and feedback. Small groups ensure attention; clear outcomes keep progress visible.

Values

  • Curiosity over perfection
  • Safety and respect in every interaction
  • Documentation and repeatable processes

Timeline

2019 — A rainstorm and a borrowed wheel

Two friends experimented with clay after a stormy weekend. The spark became a routine, then a mission.

2021 — First open studio nights

Neighbors joined. We added kilns, set safety protocols, and structured our first six-week series.

2025 — Rainfield Clay Collective expands

We refined our curriculum and built a membership program that funds scholarships for newcomers.
